Classroom Procedure and Rules
A positive learning environment can only be achieved if every one of us respects each other. I believe in a democratic classroom and would like to incorporate student input as long as classroom procedures and rules are followed.
When students enter the classroom, they should pick up their folders from their slots and go to the seats that will be assigned on the first day of class. Choir class should be a fun place! So we can all talk while we do this so long as we all focus and quiet down when class begins. As for the end of class, students will simply put their folders away and wait for the bell.
Rules in the Classroom:
-There is no tolerance for mockery or bullying in my classroom
-No chewing gum
-No cellphones during class time
-Participation is key to a good grade so let me know if you are not feeling well and need to rest your voice
If you are found breaking any rules, either your grade will be dropped or disciplinary action will have to be taken.
Grading:
Your grade for concert choir will be based off of the rubric below:
Participation 50%
Sight Reading/Part Testing Quizzes 25%
Sectionals 25%
(Every student in choir must attend at least 3 sectionals throughout each marking period.)
